Pasta with Naked Sauce

What do you do when you find yourself hungry on a Saturday night and have everything for a nice, quick pasta meal except sauce? You make Naked Sauce! I totally just invented this and the name. Basically, I was thinking that the meat and veggies are what is underneath the sauce -- so when you remove it, your sauce is Naked! It tastes kind of like meat loaf over pasta -- very yummy in my opinion.

Pasta with Naked Sauce
Ingredients
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 pint fresh mushrooms
  • garlic and herb seasoning (or another favorite seasoning)
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 1 package whole wheat linguine or other pasta
  • Fat-free shredded cheddar cheese
  • Cooking spray
Procedure
  • Coat skillet with cooking spray and heat
  • Add onions, garlic and mushrooms and cook until tender
  • Add as much seasoning as you want
  • Add ground beef and cook until all pink is gone, add is some more seasoning.
  • Still in tomato paste and heat through
  • Serve over pasta
  • Top with shredded cheese
